Dental Amalgam

Feb 8 • 1 minute read

Dental amalgam which are sometimes called “silver fillings” typically are made from a combination of metals such as silver, tin, copper, and mercury.  They tend to be very durable and are useful in areas that are difficult to keep dry as they harden quickly.   However, they are not very esthetically pleasing especially in areas towards the front of the mouth.  Scientific studies have confirmed it is a safe material that poses no health risks.
